Apple air thin laptop – the thinnest

Intel Core 2 Duo processor 1.6GHz
2GB Memory
80 GB hard drive
13.3 inch widescreen LED display
Starting from £1,199

Now before you say it, I know that the Apple Air isn’t exactly the cheapest laptop out there but it does have one strong reason for being here on Thin Laptops. The new Apple Air is officially the worlds thinnest laptop – considering this site is based entirely around portable and thin laptops it deffinately deserves a mention.

Despite being incredibly thin it is in fact built very well – you don’t get that cheap plastic feeling here but I suppose that’s what we have come to expect from Apple. At just 0.7 inches high this is one seriously thin laptop but it doesnt end there. As well as its ability to easily fit into an envelope (as shown in the Apple advertising campaign for this product) it also comes built with some pretty sweet features.

To begin with lets take a look at visually, how does it look? Well personally I think it looks absolutely stunning. Just like with the majority of Apples products it is very smooth and streamlined with that famous shiny appeal.

As for performance and the insides of the Apple Air it contains an Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.6GHz with an 80GB hard drive. It’s deffinately not the worlds most powerful laptop but considering its size its pretty impressive. It also features 2GB of memory.

It does however have some down points to it, firstly: CD’s. If you want to watch a DVD or perhaps write a music CD then you’re out of luck as the Apple Air does not have a CD drive. In order to keep the laptops size to a minimum they excluded such things and you would therefore need to purchase the external drive if you wanted such functionality. You will be glad to know though that the connectivity of the Apple Air is focused around its wireless capabilities which includes 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11 pre-N and of course, Bluetooth. This means it is ready to go as far as the internet/networks go.

Starting at £1,199 the Apple Air is deffinately an impressively thin laptop.
