Dell continue to create the best bargain laptops around and the Dell Inspiron 1720 shows this. One of the first things you will notice about this laptop is the fact that it’s very sturdy. Obviously, Dell have noticed some of the durability flaws of their previous generation laptops and started to create notebooks with thicker, maybe stronger plastic (or maybe this one is just built better). With this laptop, you are able to choose from 8 main colours for the lid, which can be very stylish. When you open the lid of the laptop the first thing you notice is the classic silver Dell look.
After the great, stylish look you will immediately notice the compact and comfortable keyboard that Dell has created for this laptop. It’s extremely easy to use and it won’t leave you wishing you chose another laptop, as we all know the keyboard is a big part of a laptop.
Dell has also added a number pad on the side, which is very handy indeed making numbers so much faster to produce. This laptop also seems to be slimmer than some of the previous laptops by Dell, smaller behind the screen and under the keyboard, which also adds to this stylish laptop. Basically this laptop is very impressive; the 17inch screen is very snazzy and also makes watching movies and absolute joy. Along with the vision, you must have sound and this notebook has got it, with crisp and clear sound you will not be disappointed listening to your favorite artists.
Dell has always been the best at giving its customers great specifications at very low prices. With the laptop you have 2GB of memory and a160GB hard drive, which will allow you to store all your pictures, movies and songs without slowing your computer down (which can be a pain). Alternatively you could opt for the smaller package with the AMD spec instead of the Intel Core Duo 2 package. Built into the top of the lid is a 2.0 mega pixel webcam which can be very handy to do video calling to friends and family abroad. Also built in is a microphone which is very high quality so that they can hear you clearly too. This machine has a Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS card. You will be able to play the latest main stream games without any slow down what so ever, and the latest of games will look stunning with the 17inch screen. With this machine looking very slim compared to the older machines you would expect it to be a lot lighter, sadly his is not the case. This laptop weighs in at about 4kg which will not make for the best mobility. One other huge plus side to this laptop is the battery life as without recharge, it can last a huge 4 hours, which will be very handy for getting things done. This is a great laptop which can be bought for around £469 from dell, and with that sort of price, I would recommend it to anyone.
